It is true that they have focused locally rather than nationally.
It is true that with most people they like their congress/senate representative yet hate the institution.
I do not dispute intelligence, since they are ruthless and lack empathy. The upper echelon of that party are sociopaths that are highly in bed with big business and the erosion of everyone else under.
I also know that quite a few are smarter than I am, though as mentioned fail at broadening their vision. They are very much concentrated on winning, and it is a concern.
