If he moves away, he is pretty much isolated. In Sanford, he has a lot of friends, as well as the police, around who know him. If he's armed, he should be okay.

And I'm not certain his life is in as much danger as everyone thinks. There is a lot of huffing and puffing, of course.

I hope I'm wrong. One person has already died. We don't need to see any more.
