So I went through grade school in the 80's. I don't believe more than $50 was spent on going back to school for any given year. Once I started working at 16 I bought my own supplies. At most it was a few folders, pack of paper and pencils and maybe some fresh duds. Usually it was just a pack of paper and a pencil. I was a minimalist while everyone else had Trapper Keepers and massive back packs I had a loose pack of paper and badly worn pencils.
