Land told detectives that DeMarquise asked him if he knew any Mexicans. Lang said he believed DeMarquise intended to rob someone.

A few minutes later, Lang said DeMarquise showed a revolver with a brown wooden handle that he had hidden in his waistband.

According to the affidavit, the two walked along Ellis Street when DeMarquise said, "There goes a lady."

The lady happened to be Sherry West, who was pushing her son in a baby stroller, just a few yards from their home.

The two boys walked up to West when DeMarquise ordered the woman to give up her purse. West said no, and according to Lang, that's when DeMarquise pulled out the revolver, aimed it at West, and hit her with it. The two then struggled when the gun went off twice, according to Lang. The second shot hit West in her leg.

Lang told detectives DeMarquise then said toWest, "Give me your purse or I am going to shoot your baby."

DeMarquise, according to Lang's interview with detectives, aimed the revolver at the stroller and pulled the trigger.

The baby, 13-month-old Antonio Santiago, was shot and killed

GSR only shows that you're either been near a gun that went off, or have been in physical contact with someone who was near a gun that went off.

The father? Probably from physical contact with the mother. The stuff is easily transferred from one surface to another.

P.S. news reports only indicate that there was only GSR on the parents--doesn't specify where.
