Why aren't we able to get a real explanation of Saudi ties to 9/11? [View all]
All this stuff about the necessity of endless war, torture is great, warrantless surveillance is awesome, indefinite detention is peachy, etc.
None of this police state garbage holds up when one realizes that the supporters of these tactics have no interest in being honest about what really happened in regard to 9/11 as it relates to US/Saudi relations.
Bob Graham, the former head of the Senate Intelligence Committee, is on the record stating that there was a Saudi support network for the hijackers operating in the US. His theory is that Saudi government officials were trying to appease Bin Laden and gave him access to their network in exchange for Bin Laden not attacking inside Saudi Arabia. Saudi links to 9/11 were never properly investigated because it would have made some Saudi and US citizens rather uncomfortable. Some of the these US citizens were high level government officials who happen to be key advocates and cheerleaders of police state counterterrorism tactics.
