ought to know the difference between 'on the record' and 'off the record.' Better yet, you should know better than to ever engage in a vicious back-biting snarkfest with an interlocutor for whom 'on the record' is ever even a possibility. Save the angry gossip for your apolitical non-journalist ultra-trustworthy bestie back home...
