better how? If there was a cable show offering cash prizes for people willing to stick sharp objects in their eyes, someone would likewise sign up.
Bullriding is a pretty sad pursuit as well, but at least it's some kind of contest of skill. The whole drama of the event doesn't come from the possibility of the rider being killed.
I get the cold chuckles about natural selection -- we had a few of those in this house over this as well.
But in the end it's more sad and disgusting than hilarious.
We can do better.
