There were three security guards and about a dozen other people standing around watching while I had a discussion with my (very rational) wife. She agreed that she wouldn't allow any more procedures and I agreed to go back upstairs to be discharged. They tried to take my blood pressure and I refused. She backed me up. On a previous stay a year before, I told her "no more pain killers" and she agreed. They were just getting too weird.

The only thing I know of that violated her instructions was my last visit. She told them what hospital I wanted (about 2 miles away from the nearest) and they said they were required to go to the nearest if I hit a critical point (which I did), so they took me to the hospital that had previously lost me. My wife AND the attending doctor had no idea where I was and it was about an hour later, "remember Alice? This is a song about Alice", that they finally found me. I don't like that hospital.
