(154 posts)Now then, presidents are elected to lead. Reagan did, and Tip O'Neill ate crow. Clinton did, and Newt Gingrich had to look for a day job.
Obama is not leading on this issue. And his key economic advisors are all Wall Street Capitalists, in case you're wondering why income from Capital is doing just fine, and in fact thriving, while the middle class sucks wind.
So if Obama were to do more than merely give lip service to a higher FMW, maybe blaming Republicans (a word more nauseating than "repukes" would be okay. But even then, why could Reagan whip the great Tip O'Neill, and Clinton whip Gingrich after the uber successful Contract With American strategy? Answer: LEAD!! Play hard ball. Do not flinch first in the game of chicken. Grow a pair, Mr. President, and do what elected you to do. Change stuff. Don't just talk about change. That's campaigning, and not leading as president.
