(11,495 posts)We all do, but I for one am no part of a bunch of doom and bloomers who only want to see the bad, never the good. If you want change how do you go about it? The president won't be running again, but next year a lot of people need to decide who they want in charge of congress. Sure to many they are all the same, but do you really think things can get any better if republicans continue to control the house, or if they also take control of the Senate? As I have sated that president wants to raise the minimum wage but can he do that if republicans control things?
Think about the state governments. In Washington state we have a minimum wage of $9.19. That may not be great, but it's better than many states especially those with republicans running things. Do you not think that in order to get the changes you want, higher wages, it would be a better chance if democrats were in charge and not republicans? If you have democrats that aren't working for the people, then vote for someone else who will.
I do not idolize anyone. The president has made sure that my daughter who has a pre-existing condition can get health insurance that she can afford. I appreciate that, but I do not idolize him. I do not agree with everything he has done, but all in all he is by far better than any republican, and a hell of a lot better than George W. Bush was.
I know people have it tough these days, I see it all the time. I see people that have a hard time paying their bills, but I also have seen some of them doing much better and can now catch up on those bills simply because they did find a job. As I said it could be a hell of a lot better, but not as long as republicans continue to fight every bill that might help the people and not the corporations, and that goes for some democrats that are doing the same thing. As I said the only way to change things is to vote in new people who will work for the people. It won't be easy but if we don't try, if we don't have some hope nothing will change.
