(50,254 posts)And he didn't have to make the cuts from programs for the poorest of the poor first(the way his dad, the alleged liberal hero, always did). Worst of all, he bragged about it on the stump, as if any Democrat should EVER brag about making life harder for the poor.
Finally you're assuming it'll just be austerity for a couple of years.
In my experience, when they start cutting programs for the poor, they never, ever, stop.
Anywhere.
And the ones who make the cuts NEVER restore what they cut later.
It's a real test of who's side you're on. if you put cuts in the social wage BEFORE taxes on the rich(and you wouldn't even actually have to call it "taxing the rich", you could call it "Reparations for Reaganomics"
, you're damn sure not on the people's side.
Sorry, I'm just not that impressed by the Cuomo brand.
I'll back him if nominated...but I'm not sure he'd run(he may have inherited his dad's allergy to actually entering presidential primaries).
