(24,689 posts)60. There are several problems with 401ks.
The biggest problem is that they are risky and can be easily depleted leaving one broke and homeless. I had to drain mine a few years ago after I got divorced and lost my job. I am slowly building one back up but it wont be near enough when I retire. I plan to move to the Philippines to be able to survive in my old age.
