We set up the conditions and carefully constructed a legal system that gave us--not always "DUers"--the flexibility to accomplish what we wanted by strategic re-interpretation of words and laws. We had a use, couldn't get the necessary changes made to let us proceed in a straightforward manner, and found tools to suit our use.

Now others have seen the tools laying there and decided to repurpose them.

Oh, well.
