As for the science part of it, I am a Engineer, so I understand and use the laws of physics more than most. They are a human representation of natural occurrences. They are typically very good models within their set boundaries.

As for the media? I have not experienced drone strikes first hand. I have not experienced Iraq/Afghanistan first hand. I have not had much exposure to different countries/cultures besides US. Are the stories/images fed to me true? Are they complete fabrications similar to Winston Smith's world? I would like to believe that there is some truth to them. I would not want to think that everything fed to me is a complete fabrication. But I have thought about it.

I have considered dropping out of every national scene. I have considered not reading/watching any news source. I have considered making my whole world only what I experience first hand. Keep my connections all real people that I know first hand. I imagine this is similar to what OWS has done since dropping off the national radar.

I am going to have to ponder this some more.
