gets detained over something petty, interrogated, held and returned to me to pick up the pieces.

Yes, I'd be overjoyed if that happened, and it would cause no strain or concern on my part, my partner's part or on our relationship. It isn't like there aren't enough reasons for a couple to buckle under pressure. Let's try to create some new ones!

Too bad they don't have kids. A five year old could have been utilized for much greater leverage.
