In reply to the discussion: Hey, did you guys hear Glen Greenwald is in the news again? [View all]Mojorabbit
(16,020 posts)I don't care about Greewald nor Snowden. I care about our govt spying. They are extraneous to the story for the most part. I am happy they started the global conversation about syping. AND when journalist's SOs are stopped and interrogated and their property confiscated it adds another dimension to the spying story and it is newsworthy.
I care about my civil liberties and that is what I post about and I am not the least embarrassed about it. I grew up when it was preached how we were so lucky because we did not live in a country like the E Germany or the USSR where their govt spied upon the citizens. It was you know ..unAmerican.
You on the other hand have lost any credibility you may ever have had on the subject because you appear in every thread like this and start snarking instead of contributing thoughtful commentary and you defend egregious unAmerican behavior by the govt. It is why I normally don't even bother engaging. It really works to disrupt the conversation and that might be your goal but if it were me, I would be totally embarrassed.
