(30,481 posts)I am also not in a rage at what he did. The conversation he has started can only benefit us. I have a serious problem with the governments actions in many areas, including this one.
I was just pointing out that you inferred things about the other poster that weren't there. A leap in assumption over a pretty large canyon.
"If he had not shared with foreign countries, how would we have found out what was being done to us?"
There are so many ways to answer that I would not know where to start. His options were in no way binary. Not even close.
I think that we agree on the most important aspects. What Snowden has done is start what could be one of the most important conversations of our time with respect to the US government and its citizens. The US government is currently overstepping its bounds if the people of said country are to be considered to be free. The US government is currently running a program that runs amuck of the fourth amendment, doing so in a manner where individuals cannot prove harm by the program, therefore stopping any legal action against the program in an attempt to prove its unconstitutionality. Almost as if it were set up that way by design(light hearted humor).
