93. Yeah, good luck buying live seafood with an EBT card.

Speaking of. What are the odds that magnetic cards were in use in 1991? I don't know about there, but I know that in Alabama, food stamps came in literal stamp booklets until 1996 or so.

Jewelry, with welfare? Maybe. Hard to tell since you'd have to use cash to do so. TANF comes in E-check form, directly deposited into your bank account, after all. And, well I hate to break it to this lady, but Wal-Mart isn't exactly DeBeers or Tiffany's.

I'll bet she'd stare blankly if someone threw the terms like TANF and SNAP at her though. Or even WIC. They usually do, since to them "welfare" simply means "brown people being uppity." Ten bucks that's what she's doing there. "Ohmigaw, Becky, I saw that black lady buy a lobster! Welfare is totally out of hand!"
