In reply to the discussion: Chelsea Manning is teaching me a lot about my "compatriots" today [View all]vlyons
(10,252 posts)If it were me, and if I were transgender, which I'm not, I would have kept it in the closet due to fear of harassment and abuse in prison -- military prison, no less. I have to give it the previous-Bradley Manning, who has requested to be considered a female, named Chelsea, that she has a lot of moxie and courage to be willing to step on this path. Whatever you may think of her decision to leak secrets, please consider that she has a noble heart. That's what's important.
Here's my prediction: One day Manning, assuming she doesn't die in prison, will gain freedom and become a spokesperson for whatever causes and projects appeal to her passion for truth. Maybe about politics, LGBT rights, peace, whatever.
So here's my question to DUers. Anyone know how to writer to her in prison?
