107. Just a little clarification

Nobody was granted an exemption, although some of ht newspapers inaccurately described it that way. The judge in the case essentially granted a restraining order until the court could have a hearing on the merits of the case. That is a very routine thing. Judges have to weight whether any irreparable harm would be done by proceeding, versus the impact of not proceeding. The original court refused to give a TRO. The appeals court asked the lower court to reconsider that one aspect of the case.

I don't think it should make much difference. One would assume there will be a court ruling on the merits of the case in the next few months anyway.
