5. How embarrassing to the President,

to spend so much diplomatic energy and political capital.....for nothing!

How dumb, to spend countless hours demonizing Snowden....for nothing!

How crazy, to ground a diplomatic flight and encourage the detention of a journalist for nine hours.....for a trivial floor plan.

How totalitarian, to walk into the basement of a newspaper and destroy computers that reveal....nothing.

How unfocused, for the President to skip a personal meeting with Putin, at a time that cooperation over Syria is required, because of asylum granted to a whistleblower, that can reveal nothing of consequence.

How ill advised, to declare that there is nothing left to reveal, yet put so much stake into extraditing an apparently insignificant figure back to the United States to stand trial.

Bad Politics?

Bad diplomacy?

Or perhaps fear of what might be revealed.
