People often re-send or forward a viral email to multiple addressees from their address books. 'Reply all' sends your reply to your sender and everyone else that message was sent to.
Don't use it if you're making a personal reply intended for the sender only. But if you're debunking a viral email, 'reply all' makes sure it goes to everyone your sender sent or forwarded the viral email to.
