The propaganda has devolved to repeating the outrages, but in a sarcastic voice as though they could not possibly be true. Imagine that our government could be lying us into another war! Imagine that corporate interests could purchase government power! Just imagine it!

We don't have to imagine it. We have been observing the corruption of our government by corporate warmongers and profiteers first-hand for decades now.
