And the idea that gay people are running around with special rings they use to cut and infect people with is just vile. If you're interested in where this fevered idea may have come from, however, check out the history of the poison ring, which dates back centuries. Some of them did have a little spring loaded needle which was used to inject the victim. Some had a little compartment to hold a pill or small amount of liquid.
