6. That's why the unemployment numbers don't tell the whole story

This is why I never find the unemployment or job growth numbers very interesting. If an out-of-work engineer or laid-off construction worker finally accepts a job at Walmart to make ends meet at a fraction of what he used to make, the statistics consider this a like for like job. It isn't.
