(116 posts)"Country is in massive debt"? You're confusing corporate with government. U.S. corporate cash holdings now amount to 2.5-2 Trillion... CASH. That's money that was not paid to workers. Workers making $15/hr (like in Australia) is more than reasonable. One should be able to pay rent and have health insurance just from working hard. Entitled?.. Damn right. People are entitled to a living wage from their hard work. And the good thing is the extra earnings gets pumped back into the economy and everybody benefits.
You would think that those who support a "free market" would understand how increases in blue collar income would benefit society. But it seems these "free market" types are actually promoting some sort of "selective free market" where only the privileged benefit. I think it's called "crony capitalism".
