The later 3 shows are for the pointy-headed liberals. More in-depth analysis. A slower time of the evening.
Tweety's a little more liberal these days and has good guests but I don't like his rabid foaming at the mouth style, and O'Donnell leaves me cold (jumped the shark awhile ago IMO).
Ed is accessible and fine for a good discharge of passion (but he lost me on the NSA). Ed is good for that early slot--my MIL watches him exclusively, as an alternative to Fox. Watches none of the others on MSNBC. She tells her friends to watch Ed, not Fox.
--I like the combination of Hayes--->Rachel. I also like Melissa. Hayes is doing a good job IMO.

Seems to me there's something for everybody on MSNBC these days.
