Can we please delay this war for just a little bit. I've got reasons. [View all]

Once the Congress returns to Washington it will only take a couple of days for them to approve strikes on Syria and the military will be ready to go very soon thereafter. I'm just wondering if we could hold off on the assault for a couple of days. Here is why I ask.

Last week our Mail-lady broke a spring on her Jeep while driving down our road delivering the mail. Could we please repave the road before we spend the money on missiles aimed at Syria?

My neighbor Lee has lung cancer and no insurance. Can we have national health care before we send the Fleet into the Med?

The proposed School Bond didn't pass in this County last year so the elementary school in town won't be getting the new heating system it needs. Can we get some help to keep the children warm before we bomb Damascus back into the stone age?

Bunky, the guy who lives with his wife and two daughters right up the road, can't read or write. Can we get an Adult Literacy program going before the Stealths take off?

I know its asking a lot but maybe could we just take care of a few of the pesky little things needed around here before we go spending billions of dollars elsewhere?

Our side is more then ready to fund, or at least assist in all of that. denbot Sep 2013 #1
You may need more than a 'couple of days'. We all could. randome Sep 2013 #2
No, we must strike because we care about the Syrian kids, ours not so much. NightWatcher Sep 2013 #3
We COULD multitask if the GOP wasn't obstructionist. Fewer GOP, more progress. CakeGrrl Sep 2013 #4
If its progress you want then vote for Progressives, not DINOs. 1-Old-Man Sep 2013 #7

It is relevant to the extent that Syria would have every right to retaliate in any way it sees fit. Flatulo Sep 2013 #12
What it has to do with it is your apparent utter incomprehension of what war is. 1-Old-Man Sep 2013 #13
But it is "limited". bvar22 Sep 2013 #11

The only answer I can come up with is that the CIA's budget is too small 1-Old-Man Sep 2013 #15
