"I absolutely agree that there are many non-Jewish senators and representatives just as bad."
Then why aren't
they more loyal to Israel? This demonstrates that difference:
Lieberman vs.
McCain. The article about McCain
actually mentions Israel, yet not
one accusation he is "more loyal to Israel." Not a single accusation! Yet, in the Lieberman thread, we see plenty of accusations similar to yours, and some even worse. Both are touting similar positions, yet only one is the traitor to another country, the Jew!
"Again, I do not conflate the nation of Israel or its policies with Jewish people. In fact, I don't think that I've ever known a Jewish person who conflated the two."
I never said, nor do I assume you do; just so I am clear. I understand this about you and I am not claiming you are an anti-Semite, I am saying what you said is anti-Semitic.
"As for Graham, I support outing gay people who vote against equal rights for the LGBT community. I know many don't, but I believe that closet gays who exploit homophobic ignorance for personal power lose the right to have their decision whether to reveal their sexual orientation respected."
I think you misunderstood the example. I am fine with outing hypocritical homophobes. What I am saying is implying he is gay because he is single, somewhat effeminate, and not a "manly man," he therefore must be gay; that is homophobic. Try this: "Wow! He is really masculine for a gay man." "She's so feminine, it's hard to believe she's a lesbian." You do see why those are homophobic, right? Now, draw the line to anti-Semitism, "Hey, he has the same voting record and his hawking for another war, but what do you expect, he's more loyal to Israel (because he is a Jew)." The last part is almost always unsaid, but it is said!
Think about it.
