When I was trying to lose 80lbs 20+ years ago, I watched his show. I thought he was trying to hide the gay part of him, but it just kept bustin' out. And his fans didn't mind, which was mind-blowing at the time. Still, though, I've never seen him as "officially out" as he was on that show. Of course I cheer him for it, but much of the laughter he got seemed to be "nervous laughter," IMO.
