(52,411 posts)Central Florida is definitely different than a truly Democratic state which pays attention to land development codes, and ordinary people have a say in the process. Here, they only listen to plutocratic leaders and the process is always the same. Cut off the head and remove it from he body. We see it over and over again how these leaders ignore fiduciary responsibility to the people they represent, and they don't have to worry about it because there are a number of lawyers who will step in to defend them. That includes providing misinformation to throw everyone off the track. Homeowners just do not have the financial resources to fight this local behemoth.
Central Florida will become a tinderbox because of the diversity of the people moving in. It's not difficult to see that there is a local culture that is highly motivated in maintaining the status quo. The question is, how are they going to do this when the written law is not on their side?
Though, God knows they're doing everything they can in the legislature to make corruption legal.
