does that mean if it were proven that Assad was behind the attack, you would support a war? If not, then I don't see any reason to bend over backwards and label a bunch of people liars, and the people who believe them stupid or gullible. I don't worry much about name calling myself, but it certainly doesn't lead to reasonable discussion.

Personally, looking at the evidence we have, and reading Assad's account of it, I'm fairly satisfied that the case against him is made. I don't think evidence has been manufactured to begin another reckless war, and I don't think any "yes" votes on the military strike are indictments of anyone's character. People can look at the evidence and vote their conscience, and proceed with all good intentions in either direction.

With that said, I think the whole thing should be stalled until the UN investigation releases its findings. I can understand the urgency of the administration wishing to act quickly, but I think waiting for more complete information is a better precedent, in the long view.
