5. FWIW, this is not satisfactory. The one who literally ripped her guts out with his hands got a pass:

The youngest among the alleged attackers, who was 17 at the time of the assault, was tried separately and was last month sentenced to three years in a juvenile reform home – the maximum possible punishment under Indian law.

This is one who actually killed her, she could not survive what he did. That was not the act of a boy, or even a young man. At least a wild cat breaks the neck of its prey so it is dead before doing that. So I can't even call him an animal.
