10. We all want a little credit when good things happen. I expect Obama does not fixate on it, however.

Besides, if Putin thinks he is getting credit from the international community for the proposal for international control and destruction of Syria's chemical weapons, he is more likely make the proposal work. OTOH, if Putin perceives that the world is giving Obama the credit, Putin will be less invested in the strategy.
