However, Weld County is home to 21,000+ wells, and the landscape is littered with condensate tanks like the one pictured. We have been concerned for some time over the fracking chemicals used, that officials routinely dismiss citizen concerns over water issues related to those chemicals. With only 17 state inspectors, meaning that at best a well will be inspected every six years or so, we have only the word of the drilling companies that their installations are safe. People downstream from us would be well advised to scrutinize their water supplies.
