11. I fear for today's children

I remember the early 1960s, when we had drills in school to prepare for possible nuclear bombs. We lined up, went in the hallway, sat down and covered our heads with our arms. But it didn't seem that real to us. For one thing, we weren't seeing images of bombed schools on television.

Kids today can actually see or hear news reports about kids being shot in schools. I don't know how they cope with the inevitable nightmares.
