47. That's an internal debate that goes on in my head.

A part of me wants to believe they can be "educated" that their behavior is wrong and not just a matter of an opinion they are "entitled to."

To me you can have an opinion on whether the temperature in the room is too hot or too cold, on when miliary action is justified or not justified, but never on whether all people should be accorded civil rights and basic human decency.

The other part of me is saying though they were taught the golden rule, they learned about slavery and discrimination, they were taught about the heroes and heroines who fought to against those thing, just like I did, so they already should know that discriminitory behavior is wrong. So maybe they are brick walls with no conscience whose minds can't be changed. This is what gets me sad and depressed, is that there might be no hope of ever changing this.
