And it would be entirely too cavalier of me to suggest they get it fixed.

As for keeping the A/C for the dog, roll down all the windows. Or leave the dog home.

There have been just too many times a car has been stolen because someone left it running to run into a store. The most heartbreaking was a woman whose baby wound up dead because she tried to grab the kid out of the car as the thief was driving away, but the child got tangled up in the car seat straps. Happened in the Kansas City area several years ago. I've heard her 911 call. The kind of thing that should never happen to anyone, but turn off the car.

Or, if you have very good reason to leave it running, always have a spare key with you, so you can lock the car behind you and then get back in. How hard would that be?

rolling down windows in extreme heat doesn't help the dog. AC needs to be running out west. TeamPooka Sep 2013 #26
Perhaps they were at the car, getting ready to go off, and had started it for the A/C muriel_volestrangler Sep 2013 #18
