Second rule is anything that makes money is awesome. Weapons, fracking, denied medical claims, unsafe medication, China chicken, GMO's, 3rd world slave labor, private prisons, nuclear power and on and on.
People can't resist the siren song of death money from Wall St, even though many know full well what they are doing with the helpful donations, making the world assuredly worse because of their investments, they cannot draw themselves away from fear. The love of money is the most powerful weapon corporatists count on. Once they have your money on their side, they really couldn't care less what else you do.
Its one of those "rubber meets the road" moments for most people drawn to liberal or progressive sympathies.
