Last night, my 10+yo dog placed her head on the bed by my face, and just rested there. I woke up enough to put a hand on her head and tell her I loved her. As I drifted back to sleep, I was thinking, "I'm so thankful that I've got a few years left with her."

This made me remember the dogs who've gone on in my 53 years, and made my eyes a little wet.
