5. It's a nice name, and it's nearly certain that they had no idea what it "means."

Besides, it's just a name now, void of whatever meaning it may have once had in a tongue nobody in this culture speaks. My own name means "healer", but my mom didn't know that when she named me -- she just liked the sound of Jason as a boy's name. Any ancient Greek connotations can be safely ignored.
