41. I put chicken on my "do not eat unless local and i know the grower" list when i read this earlier

I also went to a neighbor who sells pork to a local grocer and bought a hog for my freezer. And we have raised our own beef for the last decade and i know exactly what they ate and how they were treated.

Until i find a similar source for chicken, no chicken. After my dogs were affected by the 2007 chinese melamine food issues, i have no problem changing course as needed. i can only manage risk not eliminate it, but i won't ever knowingly put any family member thru that again. Goes for veggies and well, everything else.
