87. One reason I don't detract much from Obama is he is super consistent.

A lot of things he's done, being for the pipeline, offshore drilling, putting everything on the table, health insurance reform, those are things he campaigned for. Obama's first cabinet had a record number of freaking Republicans on it. It was all predictable. None of those things I agree with but I make it clear whenever I point out his consistency.

Most of Obama's supporters don't agree with Lesner or MM, on most issues, and most don't agree with NSA wiretapping, drone wars, offshore drilling, Chained-CPI, etc, etc. Hell, I get heat for pointing out the Chained-CPI thing came with a poverty threshold, which, had it been passed as offered, would've brought 6 million people out of poverty (this is, btw, why I didn't think it would pass, which of course it didn't). The Center for American Progress as well as the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities (both very liberal / left wing organizations) would've supported Chained-CPI, for example, had it included the poverty threshold as well as a lot of other stuff to protect those on SSI. Oh, and the whole "Obama wants to cut SS" legislation came with closing the corporate loopholes.

Now some of Obama's supporters might've had their heads in the sand. For instance, the poster in question was a huge Obama supporter, but when it was pointed out that Obama promised to put SS on the table, they didn't believe it. I think many of the now-detractors have become that way because they were supporters in the past but felt burned. I think the supporters are more attuned to what is going on. The caricature that BOGers wanted to attack Syria, for instance, wasn't supported by the opinion polling of whether we should do anything in Syria. Yet the BOGers got misrepresented as supporting that regularly. And the people who were oh so sure that Syria was going to be on the receiving end of a cruise missile? Well they slunk away and we all forgot about 'em. Yet the narrative sits in the back of peoples' minds. Trying to convince people Obama is a MIC-indebted warmonger.
