of one of them surrendering by laying down his arms and then being shot by his colleagues as a deserter.

I don't believe they have any intention of surrendering - just happy to die for their cause. Maybe only an instant hit like when the SAS hit the Iranian Embassy back in 1980 would've succeeded.
