The very visible and very vocal Anti-WAR movement in the US
helped turn Public Opinion against the war much sooner than if we had just kept our mouths shut and gone along with the program like so many "Centrist" "Democrats" chose to do.
The Anti-WAR Movement was the ONLY counter balance for the Pro-WAR propaganda being pushed by the MSM,
and sadly, the Centrist Democrats who chose to go along quietly not just with the illegal WAR, but with all the repressive legislation like the Patriot Act that resulted from the WAR propaganda.

The Anti-WAR sentiment and resultant turning the tide of popular opinion AGAINST the WAR help push Bush-the-Lesser into the SOFA agreement of 2007 which was the treaty that President Obama was obligated to follow for the withdrawal of all American Troops.

The U.S.–Iraq Status of Forces Agreement was a status of forces agreement (SOFA) between Iraq and the United States, signed by President George W. Bush in 2008. It established that U.S. combat forces would withdraw from Iraqi cities by June 30, 2009, and all U.S. forces will be completely out of Iraq by December 31, 2011.

No charge for the History Lesson.

Taking to The Street and and joining voices in Common Cause against bad policy is ALWAYS successful, and a requirement for any healthy participatory democracy.
