Battleground Texas is a movement I'm part of which is gaining a lot of momentum in the state, and wants Sen. Davis as our nominee for the governorship.
I think the main struggle will be two-fold. Getting voters out to the booths, and countering the GOP that TX is a solidly GOP state (it's a plaid, rather than a solid). Both are achievable, but the get-out-the-vote issue is becoming more difficult as Perry and Abbot are both doing everything they can to reduce voter eligibility in the state.
But rest assured, regardless of what the GOP chairs may advertise, TX *is in play* statewide in 2014 and nationally in 2016.
