5. It's called "hypocrisy", have you heard of it?

It's one of the great American values--that old "say one thing"/"do something different" gag that works both ways, whenever a person needs to adjust the outward manifestation of their "principles" in the face of new information or events. In most people, there's not even any logical disconnect anymore in its frequent (often contradictory) application, because they have no principles.
