(8,937 posts)I am not a celiac but react to gluten and dairy and have been dairy free (mostly) for 30 yrs. I have hashimoto's which is a thyroid issue and every bit of research states to go gluten free. I have since April and wow, I lost 10 stubborn pounds that I've been trying to lose for 5 yrs. I want to lose 10 more too! No more wheat belly!
I don't know if we have any asian grocers here in Tucson but I know fry's has a foreign food aisle. Reading labels is important because of the cross contamination that occurs in plants that use wheat products.
My grandmother (and grandfather from Italy) used to make noodles and I would eat that stuff up. Oh man, I miss those meals. Grandma made the best meatless sauce ever. I've always put my noodles in the sauce too.
