(Scene/Camera S/C): Wide shot of a darkened large space evoking a castle keep, a single ray of light peeking through the center of a stained glass rose window illuminating a desk on which rest a scepter and motley hat. Shot gradually tightens to the desk. A chair is turned with its back to the desk.

(Typical Theatrical Deep Toned Preview Voiceover, TTDTPV): In a forum so full of hilarity, it has overwhelmed 2 prior hosts by overflowing inbox and looming deadline. A new fool picks up the scepter and motley of The Duzy Awards!

(S/C): The chair turns and a hand reaches for the motley hat

(TTDTPV): Will he succumb to the pressures of hate mail claiming "Hey I was the butt of that joke!" or threads in GD wondering where the DUzys have gone because they're late again! (evil laughter in the background)

(S/C): Sound of a needle being dragged across a vinyl record...


Just hold on here! Wait just a dagone minute and listen. I'm not the new host of the DUzy Awards as I intend to be the facilitator. To do the pretty graphics and colorization for each nomination is a huge chore. So I'm not going to do it quite that way, I would like to see the DUzys transformed into a DU powered phenomenon. I have a plan, it will probably change over time as adjustments are needed.

Here's how it will work:

Every week, I will start a DUzy Nomination thread. I was thinking Sundays would be good.

When you run across something that is DUzy worthy, reply to the nomination thread with a link to the DUzy set up or straight line and the post number you are nominating. Feel free to provide an excerpt, etc. People will be able to comment on your submission as well.

When I start a new thread, I will self delete the old thread so that we only have one thread a week that can be posted to.

I know people are funny enough to keep the thread kicked, but I will try to keep it on the first 3 pages.

Along the way and from time to time we may do things like 'Best Of' threads, or subject threads (like Cruz) as the humor moves us and life allows. We might devise some sort of poll like the photography group does, or not, we'll see. The intent is to do some sort of periodic summary or recap of DUzys.

Your input is critical to the success of this method, please tell me what you think.
