13. The monster is loose.

Look at a Tea Bagger rally, and what do you see? I see a bunch of economic losers in life convinced they are only losers because the government gets in their way. They will go on at great lengths to tell you how hard they have worked their entire lives. Many of them probably really have been told by employers that they would have gotten the job if it wasn't necessary to hire a minority instead.

I know several of this type. I have mistakenly hired this type. They are far from what an employer would call a hard worker. You can not be selfish and a hard worker from the employer's perspective. "I'm not being paid to do that," automatically moves you to the top of the fire-as-soon-as-possible list.

Sadly, a lot of employers in that instance will tell the person being fired (or not hired because of their selfish attitude during the job interview) it is because of some non-existent diversity policy. It is far easier than saying, "you suck." For one thing, "you suck," can lead to lawsuits.

And, "why did he spend an hour interviewing you instead of dismissing you as soon as he saw you were White," is not apparently a valid argument to these yokels.

So they believe themselves to be the chosen people. But they have nothing. They don't own stocks and could care less if the market crashes. They obviously don't have the slightest understanding of how the government or an economy works. They have been taught simple platitudes that they believe hold the truth about how an economy work. And those platitudes tell them that shutting down the government will make everything better.

The 1% created this monster with their propaganda. And many DUers are flat out wrong when they claim that money is EVERYTHING you need in politics. Votes trump money every time. Money makes it easier getting votes. But we have reached a time and place within the Republic Party where those voters' minds are fixed (fixated might be a better word). No amount of money is going to change that anytime soon. Elected Republics now have no choice but to feed the monster until the monster is sated.
